Born 1932 in Budapest, Hungary. Settled in Israel, 1949. Member of Kibbutz Dalia. Carmel received his education at the Music Institute of the Oranim Teachers' Seminary. He studied composition with Prof. Abel Ehrlich and Prof. Yizhak Sadai. Carmel has taught music at several high schools in Israel (1954-1971), and at the Music Institute of Oranim (1972-1995). Won the Acum Prize for orchestral composition (1969) and the Kibbutz Movement Competition Prize (1972).
