אפרת גרליךEfrat Gerlich was born in 1959 in Jerusalem, Israel. She studied in the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem both in the Education Department with Dr. Veronica Cohen, and in the Theory Department with Prof. Mark Copitman and received BA in music education. Later she studied jazz piano with Ofer Brayer, Liz Magnes and Boris Gamer She also studied classical piano with Mrs.Dina Turgeman and gave classical recitals in famous concerts halls in Israel (Tsavta, Jerusalem, and Yuval, Ramat Hasharon She participated twice in the festival 'Tof Miryam' for women, there she showcased her Jazz and Ethnic music. Currently she is studying composition with the composer Zohar Sharon with whom she completed the 'Daniel' oratorio and orchestration with Maestro Elli Yaffe. In May 2015 she had a concert in The Jerusalem Music Center. There she had premier to "The dream Nebuchadnezzar" for Marimba solo, "Blow a mighty Horn" for soprano and 2 horns and a few songs from the Song of Songs. One of the songs was heard on the Israel's classical radio station, 'Kol Hamusica'. In December 2015 she participated in the festival 'Sounds in the Desert' directed by Dr. Michael Wolpe, there her piece '3 miniatures for flute and piano' was performed by Idit Shemer and Katerina Rey Chepelev. The piece "The Dream of Nebuchadnbezzar" for piano solo was performed on October 16Th at the ACL music festival, Vietnam. . On December 2016 the Liturgical choir performed the final piece of the Oratrorio "Daniel" with Maestro David Loden and The Tel Aviv Soloists both in Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv. On June 201 Trio Noga (Idit Shemer-flute, Irit-Messer yaakobi-Cello and Maggie Cole(U.S/A-England)-Piano performed her 3 miniatures in a special arrangement to this trio The composition performed in 3 public concerts in Merom Hagalil, Kibuts Magen and in Jerusalem She also arranged the 7 popular Spanish songs pf Manuel De-Falla to them which performed 5 times in their tour all over Israel.
